PRAGUE – A team of Czech investors have announced that they have agreed in principal to purchase popular local online auction website Aukro.cz, according to international media
Word of the sale came in a statement issued by the buyers, who will take shares off of the Polish Allegro group, which is owned by South Africa’s Naspers. Naspers had previously put the assets up for sale.
Those who will be acquiring Aukro.cz are the site’s founder Vaclav Liska who will take 50 percent, BDO Advisory partners Petr Kymlicka and Radovan Hauk with 25 percent, and Agora Development with the remaining 25 percent, according to Reuters. The price of the transaction was not disclosed.
According to the Aukro.cz website, they currently have 3.8 million registered users, making it one of the most popular e-commerce websites in the Czech Republic.
